The Great Treeby ~lehsa

I found this a rather interesting view of ants entering and leaving a hole in a big tree. It reminded me of D'ni in some weird way since they speak of the "great tree of possibility" which was their foundation.

Anyhow, I found it looked rather cool.

Oh man...great photo and it reminds me of seeing similar stumps out in the woods as a child. There were these HUGE wood ants, half an inch long, that were going in and outta there and it was creepy! But the ultimate was one time at my grandma's house when I put the garden hose next to a dead stump, which was cut very low to the ground. HUNDREDS of cockroaches and crickets came pouring outta there when the water hit, I nearly screamed like a girl

Yeah I know that feeling.
During a big hurricane in the early 80s, we had these HUMONGOUS ants about the size of a little finger coming out all over the yard. We found them after the storm went thru. They were the biggest ants and someone said they are subterrarean and never come out but for big storms when the earth gets drenched enough.

I took that on my way to lunch.
Lots of trees and interesting textures here on campus.
I'm gonna try for this century plant image tomorrow.
